Conventionally, there are three different types of coughs that a cat usually faces in different conditions.
If you are interested to know about different behaviors of cats and their coughs then go through this whole article because I am going to share some useful information regarding this cat health condition.
Dry Cough:
The first main type of cat coughing is the dry one. This type has different symptoms like most of the people think that it usually occurs due to some foreign substance and germs reacting in the throat of the pet. Well, the main causes of this cough are quite opposite to it. It usually occurs due to the tight neck collar, drinking of water rapidly and many more. This cough is actually an attempt made by the pet to clear its throat.
Rasping Cough:
Another major type of this health condition is rasping cough. This type is also not so dangerous and if you observe that your cat is vomiting hairballs via coughing then do not get worried because it is a normal routine. This cough usually occurs because of cat's hairs. As you know that this pet loves to keep itself tidy and clean and for this they usually lick their fur. While licking, the hairs of the automatically stick with the tongue of the kitty towards the stomach.
Everybody knows that hairs are indigestible and it is quite difficult for the pet to digest them therefore they spit them out via coughing. You can get rid of this problem by grooming your cat on daily basis.

Different Types of Constant Coughing

Despite the type of cough that a person has, constant coughing can be highly irritating, as well as unpleasant. However, if an individual is aware of what type of cough they have, it can allow their doctor to correctly diagnose the underlying cause of the cough. Generally, there are two distinct types of cough: wet and dry. A dry cough occurs when the coughing produces no mucus or phlegm. Allergies, a cold, or the flu generally causes this type of constant coughing.
A wet cough is defined as a productive cough in which some type of excretion is expelled during the coughing session. The wet cough is generally thought to be caused by pneumonia, bronchitis, or the flu. However, it is possible for a cough to be wet, but non productive.
It can be difficult for an individual to determine when they should go to a doctor about their constant coughing. However, if the individual has constant or chronic coughing that has lasted more than two or three weeks, he or she should be seen too. Similarly, if the cough is particularly painful, they should be seen to by a doctor. Painful coughing can be indicative of the onset of pneumonia or bronchitis. Furthermore, and most importantly, if a person's constant coughing has produced blood, they should seek medical help immediately. The presence of blood after a session of hard coughing is indicative of a more serious medical ailment, like tuberculosis.
Although constant coughing is generally the most prominent symptom of an illness, it is important that an individual is aware of their other symptoms too. For example, chest pains are often indicative of bronchitis. Chest pain and a fever could indicate that an individual has the onset of pneumonia. However, it is important for an individual to remember that only a trained medical professional can accurately diagnose and treat these illnesses. There are numerous home remedies that can reduce the amount of recovery time a person has to endure; however, in the case of these illnesses, the home remedies should not replace modern medicine as a means of treatment.
A person should consult their doctor or physician before engaging in a particular set of home remedies.
