4. Mustard Oil
One of the oldest cough home remedies is the use of mustard oil. For children, you can use this oil to massage on the chest area. This also helps asthmatic patients, by the way, to relieve them of chest congestion. When you mix mustard oil with rock salt, the effects are even better.
